Celine Dion made a surprise appearance at the NHL Draft in Las Vegas over the weekend. She took the stage at Sphere to announce the draft pick for her hometown club, the Montreal Canadians. “Good evening, everyone,” Dion said to the crowd. “I’m excited — not even a hockey mom. With the fifth overall selection in the 2024 NFL draft, the Montreal Canadiens are proud to select Ivan Demidov.” During a post-draft press conference, Demidov revealed that he is very familiar with Dion’s music, laughing while admitting, “I watched the movie Titanic.” In an Instagram post featuring photos from the event, Dion expressed appreciation to everyone for making the experience memorable. “Thank you Canadians for having me, and NHL for taking such good care of my family…we had a lot of fun!” (Hollywood Reporter)
