With a new album announcement this week, Kacey Musgraves confirmed that Middle of Nowhere will arrive on May 1, 2026. The project opens a new chapter for the singer-songwriter after Deeper Well and introduces Dry Spell as its first single.

As part of the rollout, Dry Spell arrived with a music video and an early look at the album’s tone. The 13-track record is described as a personal set shaped by time spent living between Texas, Tennessee, and Mexico, with country at the center and other regional sounds woven into the mix.

The album also brings in a notable group of guest artists. Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings, and Gregory Alan Isakov are all featured across the track list, adding familiar names to a record that appears rooted in reflection and place.

Middle of Nowhere takes its title from a phrase tied to Musgraves’ Texas hometown, giving the album a setting that feels both literal and emotional. Between the new single and the full announcement, the release points to a record focused on solitude, identity, and the landscapes that shaped it.
