Justin Timberlake has revealed which song from his career stands above the rest, choosing his 2007 hit What Goes Around… Comes Around as his personal favorite.
During a November 5 interview highlighted by Billboard, Timberlake reflected on his biggest hits and explained why the track from his 2006 album FutureSex/LoveSounds holds a special place in his career.
The singer revealed that the song was inspired by a friend’s difficult relationship experience rather than his own. After hearing the story and receiving permission to use it, Timberlake said the songwriting process took approximately 20 minutes.
He also recalled the song’s extended music video featuring Scarlett Johansson, describing the creative experience as particularly memorable.
The single reached No. 1 on the Hot 100 in March 2007.
Timberlake’s personal top five also included Mirrors, My Love, SexyBack, and Cry Me a River.
During the conversation, he discussed Kanye West’s connection to SexyBack and shared that he recently worked on several musical ideas with Don Toliver following an August concert in Miami.
